Kevin Byall

Kevin has been telling stories longer than he has spoken English. By age 2, using only a small vocabulary of recognizable utterances, he enthralled an audience of parents and the family dog on a regular basis.  Years later, with slightly better verbalization and linguistics, he opened for the very first Bawdy. He has been a regular performer here ever since.

Intimidated by the wild and talented storytellers you see onstage at Bawdy? Don’t be. These guys are good, but so are you. I’m always looking for new storytellers, and I usually announce the theme at least a month in advance of the event.

Check back regularly for the upcoming event’s theme, and enjoy the delicious torture that is having a tale to tell, and the thrill of sharing it with a roomful of kindred souls.

Here’s how you tell a story onstage at Bawdy:

1. Keep your story under ten minutes in length
2. It’s easy to get caught up in the punch line, and then you’re stuck with “…and so yeah, that happened”. Think “beginning, middle and end’.
3. If you’re new to this, rehearse it a time or two in front of at least one other person
4. No reading! But crib notes are OK.
5. If you name names in your story, change ‘em. The pervy community is fairly small, after all
