Saucey is a San Francisco-based writer and solo performer who has honed her storytelling skills under the direction of Christine Mc Hugh, Ann Randolph and Charlie Va ron, and has performed at the Marsh Theater, in the Thursday Night Combo at EXIT Theater, and at the Noah Space at Theater of Urgent. Saucey recently performed a new show at The Julia Morgan Center for the Arts in Berkeley. The show titled “The Light That Never Goes Out” is a work in progress that captures her recent 3-week cross-country journey to attend the inauguration. She has also been a featured storyteller with Memoir Spool and Bawdy Storytelling.

Intimidated by the wild and talented storytellers you see onstage at Bawdy? Don’t be. These guys are good, but so are you. I’am always looking for new storytellers, and I usually announce the theme at least a month in advance of the event.

Check back regularly for the upcoming event’s theme, and enjoy the delicious torture that is having a tale to tell, and the thrill of sharing it with a roomful of kindred souls.

Here’s how you tell a story onstage at Bawdy:

Keep your story under ten minutes in length
It’s easy to get caught up in the punch line, and then you’re stuck with “…and so yeah, that happened”. Think “beginning, middle and end’.
If you’re new to this, rehearse it a time or two in front of at least one other person
No reading! But crib notes are OK.
If you name names in your story, change ‘elm. The PercySW community is fairly small, after all
